WANTO 6^th Year Grant—Awarded September 1999

The YWCA of Omaha will provide technical assistance to five identified employers, and others as they receive requests. Technical assistance will be provided to enhance the workplace environment to encourage success and retention among women entering apprenticeships. The Changing Traditions Program will reflect a partnership with the Associated Builders and Contractors, the Building Trades Council and area employers and labor unions.

The YWCA has provided leadership, advocacy and support or women's growth and empowerment which are cornerstones of its services that include women in apprenticeship and other nontraditional occupations.
