WANTO 6^th Year Grant—Awarded September 1999

WORD's Gearing Up project has targeted five (5) private-sector employers, two labor unions, and two state-level apprenticeship and training organizations representing private-sector employers who offer apprenticeship or other paid on-the-job training in the building trades, especially carpentry and environmental remediation.

WORD's Gearing Up project has been in existing for ten years, training and placing women in apprenticeship and other nontraditional occupations. Women's Opportunity and Resource Development is a member of WOW's National Workforce Network.
