WANTO 6th Year Grant—Awarded September 1999

WomenVenture in partnership with the Minnesota Teamsters Service Bureau (MTSB) will provide technical assistance to the employers and labor unions in the auto repair industry. With the commitments from the Greater Metropolitan Automobile Dealers Association and the Local Union No. 974, Women Venture and MTSB, ten auto dealerships in and around Minneapolis and St Paul Enterprise Communities are committed to implement strategies to recruit and retain women in the auto repair industry, including creating options for job-related problem-solving. In addition, at least five (5) auto dealership shops will create new apprenticeship opportunities for women during the project period.
